Vibe of Portland is a nonprofit organization providing accessible art and music education for youth.
Each summer, Vibe offers half-day and full-day art camps for children ages 5–14, encouraging imaginative thinking and creative exploration.
Programs are held at Vibe Studios in southeast Portland and at community locations throughout the city.
About the activity:
A multisensory reading-and-writing camp paired with creative artmaking. Using an Orton-Gillingham–inspired approach, campers practice foundational literacy through hands-on activities—movement, tactile materials, visual exploration, and storytelling art projects. Skills include phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, handwriting, vocabulary, comprehension, and story creation, with an emphasis on confidence and joy.
