About the activity:

Ages 5–9

Get ready to move, groove, and create in our exciting Animal Rhythms summer camp! Each day, young artists will explore the natural world through animal-inspired art projects and lively movement activities that incorporate elements of dance and creative play.

Campers will stomp like elephants, flutter like butterflies, and slither like snakes — all while diving into the habitats, characteristics, and rhythms of the animal kingdom. Using these themes as inspiration, we'll create colorful 2D and 3D art pieces and explore new ways to express ourselves through movement.

To deepen the experience, campers will also be introduced to basic Spanish vocabulary related to animals, movement, and nature. These language moments are woven into the camp day with joy and intention — not as lessons, but as playful invitations to connect words with action and imagination.

Activities include:
Creative Movement & Dance: Inspired by how animals move, sound, and behave
Visual Art Projects: Using a variety of mediums to represent animals and their environments
Spanish Vocabulary Play: Animal names, colors, numbers, simple verbs, Songs, games, charades, and action-based learning
Story Time & Read-Alouds: Books that connect to animals and culture
Drawing & Crafting: Hands-on projects that bring animals and words to life

This camp offers a full-body, full-mind creative experience — where movement, art, and language come together in a way that’s accessible, energetic, and FUN. This Camp was funded in part by the Pacific Power Foundation.

NEW FOR 2026: Each of our summer camps for ages 5–9 includes an integrated literacy component designed to support early reading comprehension and language development. Through storytelling, discussion, and creativity, campers build foundational literacy skills in a natural and inspiring way.
