Backbeat Music Academy
Backbeat Music Academy offers music lessons for children and adults, focusing on exploration, creativity, and building confidence through a variety of instruments and group band experiences.
Each summer, Backbeat Music Academy runs music camps for kids, including rock band, songwriting, strings, and computer game music composition, with programs available for ages 3 and up.
The academy is located in the Raleigh Hills neighborhood of southwest Portland.
About the activity:
This camp is for Teens with experience - they'll form a band, rehearse all week and perform a gig at the end of the week. They'll get specific instruction on their instrument and get coached as a group. Instruments are provided but they can bring their own if they prefer.
Campers have the opportunity to build an electric guitar, and play them!
There is an additional $100 materials fee for this camp, and this gets them a real, playable, entirely decent electric guitar they can keep. (lmk if you have and requests
Bands are split up by age, skill and musical affinity.
There will be a concert at the end of the week, about an hour before pickup time.
