Travel back to the 1400s and discover the joy of handwork in this four-day printmaking camp for ages 10-14! Before the printing press, craftspeople carved wooden blocks and metal plates by hand—and campers will learn these traditional techniques. On day one, kids make their own handmade paper to use throughout the week. Then they explore various printing methods including mono prints, vegetable printing, embossing, and linoleum blocks. The week culminates in binding their art into a beautiful, totally handmade book. Campers leave with a portfolio of prints and a one-of-a-kind creation—all materials provided, no experience necessary. Bring lunch and a water bottle for this creative journey into traditional art forms!
