Young Musicians & Artists is a music and arts camp that integrates creative instruction with leadership training for youth.
Each summer, YMA offers immersive programs in music, visual arts, and performance for students ages 8–18.
The camp serves families from the Portland area and beyond, with sessions held on a residential campus in the Willamette Valley.
About the activity:
In YMA’s Technical Theatre and Stagecraft program, students step behind the scenes to become the creative force that brings every performance to life. From lighting and sound to sets, props, and costumes, you’ll learn hands-on design and production skills while collaborating with dancers, actors, writers, artists, and musicians. Whether you’re crafting the world of a play or running tech for a live performance, this immersive program is perfect for students who love creativity, problem-solving, and the magic of theater from the backstage perspective.
