Cedarwood Waldorf School is an independent school offering Waldorf-inspired education for early childhood through middle school.
Each summer, Cedarwood hosts a variety of camps for children from pre-K through rising 8th grade, including programs in circus arts, book arts, cooking, mixed media, printmaking, outdoor adventure, and more.
The school is located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood of southwest Portland.
About the activity:
By morning, campers will work in the comics studio, learning new techniques and building characters and stories into a new issue of the long-running "Out of Our Minds!!" compilation. In the afternoon, the group will hike and explore on walking field trips. Observational sketching is part of building our art practice. We always find time for some games and challenges, or to cool off in fountains or the sprinkler on the grass. Each camper gets a comic gift bag from Books with Pictures, and a copy of the compilation as well as a brand new sketch book to fill all summer.
