Tryon Forest Adventures
Tryon Forest Adventures is Portland’s longest-running nature day camp, operated by Friends of Tryon Creek to connect youth with the outdoors through hands-on science, exploration, and creative activities.
Each summer, Tryon Forest Adventures offers week-long camps for children ages 5 and up, featuring hiking, nature study, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
Camps take place in the Tryon Creek State Natural Area, located in southwest Portland.
About the activity:
A stewardship-focused nature camp where campers learn how to care for and protect the forest. Activities include collecting ivy and blackberry vines for crafts, creating signs to protect trails and new plantings, testing creek water quality, building bat boxes and bird houses, and playing collaborative games that encourage responsibility and teamwork. The cost is $475 for non-members and $425 for members for the week.
