Tryon Forest Adventures
Tryon Forest Adventures is Portland’s longest-running nature day camp, operated by Friends of Tryon Creek to connect youth with the outdoors through hands-on science, exploration, and creative activities.
Each summer, Tryon Forest Adventures offers week-long camps for children ages 5 and up, featuring hiking, nature study, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
Camps take place in the Tryon Creek State Natural Area, located in southwest Portland.
About the activity:
A full-day outdoor nature camp where campers dive deeper into forest ecology, stewardship, and creative exploration. During the We Love Summer week, campers identify plants through hands-on activities, study animal life using pelts and tracks, create functional and artistic forest crafts, play collaborative games, and participate in restoration projects that build a strong connection to the natural environment. The cost is $475 for non-members and $425 for members for the week.
