Friendly House is a nonprofit community center offering a range of programs for children, adults, and seniors.
Each summer, Friendly House hosts themed day camps for children entering 1st through 6th grade, with activities that include arts, science, sports, and field trips.
Camps take place in Northwest Portland’s Alphabet District.
About the activity:
Explore Portland and beyond with nine weeks of themed day camp adventures for 1st–6th graders. Each week brings a new focus — from building Portland bridges and U.S. history to swimming at Sellwood Pool, coastal field trips to Cape Lookout State Park, world cuisine cooking classes, hiking at Hoyt Arboretum, and outdoor scouting skills. Daily activities run 9am–4pm with optional early drop-off (7am) and extended pickup (6pm) available for a fee. Affordable scholarships and a sliding fee scale make camp accessible to all Portland families.
