KR Clay Art
KR Clay Art offers pottery camps, workshops, and ceramics sales led by an experienced local educator.
Each summer, KR Clay Art hosts pottery camps for kids entering 1st–9th grades, featuring hand-building, wheel throwing, and mixed media art in small groups.
The studio is located in Portland’s Arnold Creek neighborhood, with activities often taking place in nearby forests and fields.
About the activity:
Participants will hand-build their clay creations, decorate their bisque fired work with underglazes and glazes, and pick up their finished work after it is glaze fired. We will work with pre-rolled slabs of clay, creating a variety of hand-built projects. Artists in previous workshops have made: spoon rests, platters, saucers, nesting ramekins, bowls, coasters, holiday ornaments, small sculptures, fairy furniture, toadstools, and garden art.
