Tryon Forest Adventures
Tryon Forest Adventures is Portland’s longest-running nature day camp, operated by Friends of Tryon Creek to connect youth with the outdoors through hands-on science, exploration, and creative activities.
Each summer, Tryon Forest Adventures offers week-long camps for children ages 5 and up, featuring hiking, nature study, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
Camps take place in the Tryon Creek State Natural Area, located in southwest Portland.
About the activity:
This full-day camp centers on water exploration and environmental science through playful, hands-on learning. Campers investigate creek life by finding aquatic bugs, plants, and animals; experiment with water temperature and chemistry; explore how water flows using interactive stream tables; build forts and play group games; and create water-inspired arts and crafts while learning to work and play together as a community. The cost is $475 for non-members and $425 for members for the week.
