Tryon Forest Adventures
Tryon Forest Adventures is Portland’s longest-running nature day camp, operated by Friends of Tryon Creek to connect youth with the outdoors through hands-on science, exploration, and creative activities.
Each summer, Tryon Forest Adventures offers week-long camps for children ages 5 and up, featuring hiking, nature study, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
Camps take place in the Tryon Creek State Natural Area, located in southwest Portland.
About the activity:
A hands-on environmental camp focused on solar energy, observation, and creative exploration. Campers experiment with solar projects, investigate light and color, hike to study how sunlight supports ecosystems, and collaborate on games and projects that build teamwork and curiosity about the natural world. The cost is $475 for non-members and $425 for members for the week.
