Vibe of Portland is a nonprofit organization providing accessible art and music education for youth.
Each summer, Vibe offers half-day and full-day art camps for children ages 5–14, encouraging imaginative thinking and creative exploration.
Programs are held at Vibe Studios in southeast Portland and at community locations throughout the city.
About the activity:
This literacy + art camp uses an Orton-Gillingham–inspired multisensory approach to strengthen foundational reading and writing. Campers learn through movement, tactile materials, visuals, and creative projects like sculpting letters, painting word patterns, and illustrating stories. Skills include phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, handwriting, vocabulary, comprehension, and storytelling—built with confidence and joy.
