SCRAP Creative Reuse is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing educational programs and affordable materials to the community.
Each summer, SCRAP offers Camp SCRAP, a creative reuse camp for children, where participants use reclaimed materials for art and craft projects; ages served may vary by program.
The center is located in Portland’s Central Eastside neighborhood.
About the activity:
Kids ages 7-12 channel the wonders of oceans, mountains, deserts, and plains into original art at this week-long summer camp at SCRAP PDX in Portland. Create sculptures, collages, puppets, and bookbinding projects inspired by natural creatures and mythological beings using upcycled materials. Instructor-led sessions balance with open free-creation exploration.
