OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) is a science and technology museum offering hands-on exhibits, educational programs, and immersive experiences.
Each summer, OMSI runs day and overnight camps for children entering grades K–12, with programming that includes science, engineering, outdoor adventure, and creative exploration.
Camps are held at the OMSI museum in Portland’s Central Eastside, as well as at Camp Gray on the Oregon Coast and Camp Hancock in the high desert. Prices for Summer Camp will be released when registration opens!
About the activity:
All aboard for a rail adventure! Discover the engineering wonders of historic steam and diesel locomotives and see what makes these giant machines tick. Step into the shoes of an engineer designing trains of the future or take on the role of a city planner integrating multi-modal transportation into your town. Experience the world of rail transport like never before! This class may include a field trip on a train and is offered in collaboration with the Oregon Rail Heritage Center.
