Vibe of Portland is a nonprofit organization providing accessible art and music education for youth.
Each summer, Vibe offers half-day and full-day art camps for children ages 5–14, encouraging imaginative thinking and creative exploration.
Programs are held at Vibe Studios in southeast Portland and at community locations throughout the city.
About the activity:
This literacy-and-art camp blends Orton-Gillingham–inspired multisensory learning with creative projects. Campers strengthen reading and writing foundations through movement, touch, visuals, and artmaking—sculpting letters, painting word patterns, and illustrating stories. The program supports phonemic awareness, phonics/decoding, spelling, handwriting, vocabulary, comprehension, and storytelling while building confidence and joy in literacy.
