Vibe of Portland is a nonprofit organization providing accessible art and music education for youth.
Each summer, Vibe offers half-day and full-day art camps for children ages 5–14, encouraging imaginative thinking and creative exploration.
Programs are held at Vibe Studios in southeast Portland and at community locations throughout the city.
About the activity:
Make a mini quilt in an improv-style textile camp inspired by abstract expressionism and Heidi Parkes. Campers learn hand-sewing and a new quilting technique each day, layering fabric, color, texture, and shapes into a collage-like tapestry. No rules, just creative freedom—plus time to apply skills to extra textile projects. No prior sewing experience required.
