Explore maritime careers with Saltchuk companies including Alaska Tanker Company, OSG, and Foss Maritime. Middle and High schoolers tour tugboats, don survival suits, participate in tank entry workshops with a marine chemist, and attend a professional career panel on the Columbia River in Portland.

Join Saltchuk companies Alaska Tanker Company (ATC), Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG), and Foss Maritime (Foss) for a day focused on careers in the maritime industry. The maritime industry offers a wide range of career paths — on ships, in ports, in offshore energy, in logistics, in engineering, in safety, and even in environmental protection.

Students may:

Tour a Foss tugboat.
Don a survival suit and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
Participate in a controlled, hands-on "tank entry" workshop with a certified marine chemist, using atmospheric testing meters to determine the safety of an enclosed space, such as a cargo hold or ballast tank.
Learn about weather and vessel monitoring at the Fleet Monitoring Center.
Attend a career panel with professionals from various sectors at leading maritime companies.
