Saturday Academy is a nonprofit organization providing hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning experiences for students in grades K-12.
Each summer, Saturday Academy offers full-day, week-long camps for grades K-8, with programming focused on STEAM topics such as robotics, animation, engineering, and more.
Camps are primarily held on the University of Portland campus in North Portland, with some sessions at Portland State University and OHSU.
Step into the world of coding in a safe, empowering, and inclusive space designed for students identifying as female, AFAB, or nonbinary. In this transformative camp, CREATORS will turn ideas into coded scripts using advanced tools like Python and Blockly, developing real-world problem-solving skills while exploring the endless possibilities of computer science. With a hands-on approach, campers will identify needs and design programs to address them, gaining insight into careers in technology while engaging in animation, robotics, and more. Through creative expression, ethical problem-solving, and innovation, students will leave feeling empowered to shape a more inclusive future in STEAM. Each week, CREATORS jump into a different industry, tackling hands-on projects and learning from professionals across diverse fields—from sports science to engineering, computer science to movie making—unlocking new passions and career possibilities!
