At School of Rock Portland, we turn aspiring musicians into stage-ready rock stars! Located in the Hawthorne neighborhood, our performance-based programs offer lessons in guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and vocals, all taught by experienced musicians. Combining private instruction with group band rehearsals, students of all ages and skill levels gain the confidence and skills to perform live at local venues. About the activity:
The '80s gave us new sounds, legendary artists, and unforgettable anthems that still rock today! In this five-day music camp, students ages 8-17 will learn and perform hits from Billy Idol, Devo, Cyndi Lauper, Van Halen, Flock of Seagulls, and more, culminating in an exciting live performance. From new wave to hard rock, this camp is perfect for vocalists and instrumentalists looking to channel the energy and style of the '80s. Prior instrument experience is required to ensure a fun and rockin' experience for all. Join us for a totally rad week of music and nostalgia!
