They offer exceptional rock, pop, and country music education, including group and private lessons, to thousands of children each year. Committed to accessibility, they provide sliding-scale tuition assistance and instrument rentals to ensure all students can participate, regardless of family income. With state-of-the-art performance and recording opportunities, Youth Music Project fosters a vibrant community where young musicians can learn, grow, and express themselves.

About the activity:

Immerse yourself in the vibrant music of Jalisco, Mexico at YMP’s exciting week-long Mariachi Band Camp! Journey back to the 1800s and discover how Mariachi music tells the rich story of Mexican history. You'll explore the unique sounds of traditional Mariachi instruments like guitarróns, vihuelas, guitars, violins, trumpets, and the powerful chorus of voices. No need to speak Spanish—learning the lyrics and their meanings is part of the fun! Whether you’re picking up a Mariachi instrument for the first time or honing your skills, you'll experience the magic of Mariachi and end the week with an unforgettable performance. Join us for music, culture, and an incredible celebration of tradition! *Note: Camp on Friday will be 9:00 am- 5:00 pm with a concert.
