Youth Runner Camps offer middle school athletes an unparalleled opportunity to enhance their cross-country skills in the inspiring landscapes of Oregon's Cascade Mountains. The 2025 Mt. Hood Elite Middle School Camp, scheduled for August 4-8, invites runners aged 11-14 to engage in a comprehensive program that combines trail runs, expert coaching sessions, and a variety of fun activities designed to build confidence and camaraderie. Under the guidance of esteemed coaches like Pat Tyson, former roommate of legendary runner Steve Prefontaine, participants will gain insights and techniques to elevate their performance. Beyond training, the camp fosters lifelong friendships and a deep-seated passion for running, ensuring attendees are well-prepared and motivated for their upcoming cross-country seasons.

If you're passionate about running and ready to elevate your cross country game, this is the camp for you! Train alongside like-minded athletes, get one-on-one advice from experienced coaches, and hear inspiring stories from guest athletes who join in person or via Zoom. You'll dive into training techniques, injury prevention, mental toughness, race strategy, dynamic drills, and more—all designed to give you an edge for the upcoming XC season. Groups are based on ability, so there's no pressure—just progress. If your heart’s in the sport, you’ll leave camp motivated, better prepared, and confident. But if running’s not your thing, this probably isn’t your week—we’re all about real running here!
