EXPLORERS dive into different STEAM-inspired worlds each week, making summer the ultimate celebration of a learning journey. With new adventures each day, explorers collaborate, think critically, practice problem-solving, and express themselves through unique hands-on projects, activities, and exercises. Each session features elements of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math designed to empower students to practice, play, and innovate!
Sessions Include: - Next Gen Explorers Grades K-2
Lego Space Explorers - August 3-7 : Explorers will travel to distant planets, build rockets, design space stations, and meet friendly aliens along the way. Each day brings a new cosmic challenge, inspiring imagination, problem-solving, and teamwork. Get ready to reach for the stars in this unique approach to space science and engineering fundamentals!
Experimentation Explorers - August 10-14: Embark on a STEAM-fueled journey where Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math collide! The result is unique and vibrant learning experiences featuring new challenges, projects, and creations each day. This ultimate camp for the kiddo who asks "What happens when...?
MAKERS answer the question, "How does it work?" and empowers YOU to do it yourself! With an emphasis on process, campers learn and tackle various skills within favorite STEAM topics. Dive deeper into whatever sparks your curiosity and BONUS, meet real-world professionals alongside dynamic educators to make concepts real.
Sessions Include: (Grades 3-5)
Play Makers - August 3-7 : Assemble the ensemble and devise your own original story to be shared with an audience! Makers explore each component of theatrical storytelling, from playwriting to directing, designing to performing. Guided by artistic educators, Makers explore what they uniquely possess that should be celebrated on a stage.
Animation Makers - August 10-14: Students delve into the world of animation! Researching, writing, character development, storyboarding, and coding fundamentals will make for a special camp experience. From sketching and illustrating flipbooks to analyzing animated films, Makers engage in a vast array of skills required to bring this unique art form to life.
CREATORS mine STEAM inspiration from a variety of core STEAM industries and skills to put their ideas into action. The ultimate celebration of experimentation, Creators create a community of different, but like-minded next generation innovators.
Sessions Include: (Grades 6-8)
Animation Creators - August 3-7: Give life to your ideas and stories! This camp invites students to enliven their imaginings by creating moving images. Start by tackling the process of translating an idea to the story, then get to know the software needed to craft dynamic animations. Campers apply their learnings to a final project to be shared with an audience!
Sustainability Creators August 10-14:Spend a week identifying key challenges our climate is facing! Build your knowledge and creative brainstorm with like- minded planet-oriented friends experimenting with the unique ways our ecosystems are connected. From building water filtration systems to harnessing energy for good, this is a week powered by the imagination.
