The Bird Alliance of Oregon, formerly the Audubon Society of Portland, is a nonprofit dedicated to protecting birds, wildlife, and their habitats through conservation, education, and advocacy. Founded in 1902, they operate a 172-acre wildlife sanctuary and the state's oldest wildlife rehabilitation center. Committed to equity and environmental stewardship, they recently acquired land for a new Wildlife Care Center and nature sanctuary, further advancing their mission to inspire people to love and protect nature.

Get ready for an extraordinary adventure! Spend the week out on Topaz Farm learning the ins and outs of sustainable farming. Compare and contrast the differences between farm life and wildlife, learn what it takes to sustain a farm and even try your hand at farm work. You will get a behind the scenes look at one of Portland’s favorite farms while also exploring all the natural areas Sauvie Island has to offer.
