Engineering for Kids offers hands-on STEM programs that introduce children to engineering concepts through engaging activities and projects.

Summer camps are available for children in preschool through middle school, with sessions covering topics like robotics, coding, and interactive engineering.

Camps are held at multiple partner locations throughout the Portland metro area, including schools and community centers in neighborhoods such as Beaverton, West Linn, and Happy Valley.

About the activity:

Students will dive into the Engineering Design Process to design, build, test, and refine a variety of marine-based devices and vehicles. They’ll create working prototypes that explore concepts like above-water transportation, underwater exploration, and harnessing the power of water. Along the way, they’ll gain hands-on experience and discover exciting careers in naval, ocean, and marine engineering, as well as naval architecture. Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Welcome to the Enviro Bots engineering team! As robotics engineers, you’ll design eco-friendly solutions to modern challenges. Using the LEGO Spike Prime® robotics kit, you’ll tackle exciting hands-on building challenges and learn block coding to program your creations. Dive into fascinating concepts like machine learning, AI, mechanical advantage, and energy transfer.
