Unlock the power of data to tell impactful stories at the Environmental Data Journalism Camp at Lewis & Clark College! Over the course of a week, you'll dive into real environmental datasets, learning how to analyze and communicate insights through hands-on experience. Guided by expert faculty, you'll explore the tools and techniques used to craft compelling, data-driven narratives. Choose a topic you’re passionate about and create your own interactive data journalism piece, sharpening your skills in data visualization, interpretation, and storytelling. With mentorship, inspiring guest speakers, and collaborative activities, this program will empower you to use data as a force for understanding and advocating for a more sustainable future. Students who complete a precollege summer program and are later admitted to L&C will get preferential consideration for merit-based aid and are guaranteed to receive a minimum of $20,000/year in renewable scholarship funding in the form of a Sequoia or Oregon Maple scholarship.
