OMSI

OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) is a science and technology museum offering hands-on exhibits, educational programs, and immersive experiences.

Each summer, OMSI runs day and overnight camps for children entering grades K–12, with programming that includes science, engineering, outdoor adventure, and creative exploration.

Camps are held at the OMSI museum in Portland’s Central Eastside, as well as at Camp Gray on the Oregon Coast and Camp Hancock in the high desert. Prices for Summer Camp will be released when registration opens!

About the activity:

Discover why the Wallowa Mountains are known as the "Alps of Oregon" on this immersive journey through natural and cultural history. As OMSI’s most rigorous high-elevation program, this camp is designed for those ready to tackle significant elevation gains with a full pack. It is a premier opportunity to dive deep into alpine ecology and glacial geology while mastering survival skills and orienteering. Due to the demanding terrain, we recommend that participants have prior backpacking experience and are in excellent physical condition. Please note that routes and campsites remain flexible based on trail conditions and availability.

All check-ins and pick-ups will take place across from OMSI’s North Parking Lot, located at: 1800 SE Water Ave, Portland, OR 97214.
Check-in is at 7am on the start date of the program, and pick-up is at 5:00pm on the end date of the program.
