Vibe of Portland is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible art and music education to youth aged 5-14 in the Portland metro area. Their programs include after-school classes, summer camps, and no-school day camps, covering disciplines such as visual arts, digital arts, sewing, music production, and film. Vibe partners with local schools and community centers to offer these programs across multiple locations, ensuring equitable access to quality arts education. Scholarships are available to support families in need, reinforcing Vibe's commitment to inclusivity.

About the activity:

Lights, camera, action! In this dynamic class, young artists will dive into the basics of audiovisual creation, learning how to brainstorm, shoot, edit, and score their very own short film—all in a fun, small-group setting. Using iPads and iMovie, they’ll get hands-on with the entire filmmaking process, from crafting the perfect shots to putting it all together in the edit. But that’s not all! Each artist will also create the score or soundtrack for their film, using professional equipment and software to bring their vision to life. Whether you're a total beginner or a budding Spielberg, all creative levels are welcome—no prior film or music experience needed! Registration is also available by the day.
