Portland Outdoor Explorers offers outdoor adventure programs for children, focusing on exploration, creativity, and skill-building in natural settings.
Summer programs are available for ages 5-12, featuring student-led activities such as wildcrafting, shelter building, games, and themed adventures.
Programs are based in the Rose City Park neighborhood of northeast Portland, with field trips to local parks and natural areas.
About the activity:
After-school outdoor exploration program at Scott Elementary in NE Portland, led by instructor Laura Grant. Kids ages 4-14 engage in student-led neighborhood adventures, developing outdoor skills and community connections through place-based education. Available Monday through Friday as drop-in ($50/day) or flexible monthly enrollment. Pickup at 2:30pm from Scott Elementary; program runs until 6pm at Rose City Park.
