At School of Rock Portland, we turn aspiring musicians into stage-ready rock stars! Located in the Hawthorne neighborhood, our performance-based programs offer lessons in guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and vocals, all taught by experienced musicians. Combining private instruction with group band rehearsals, students of all ages and skill levels gain the confidence and skills to perform live at local venues. About the activity:
In this 5-day immersive songwriting camp, musicians ages 12-18 will learn to craft their own songs by analyzing some of the greatest compositions of the last 60 years. Campers will explore chord progressions, song arrangements, and essential songwriting techniques, developing their own unique sound. From Monday through Friday, they’ll write, collaborate, and refine their music, culminating in a live performance to showcase their original work. Prior instrument experience is required, ensuring a fun and productive experience for all. Join us for a week of creativity, collaboration, and songwriting mastery!
