The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland, Oregon, is a leading science center offering interactive exhibits, hands-on learning activities, and educational programs for all ages. Visitors can explore diverse exhibit halls, including the Turbine Hall, Life Sciences Hall, and Earth Science Hall, each featuring engaging displays and laboratories. OMSI also houses the Kendall Planetarium, one of the most technologically advanced planetariums in the Pacific Northwest, and the USS Blueback Submarine, a retired U.S. Navy submarine open for guided tours.
Step back in time and uncover the strange and fascinating fossils of ancient Oregon! With OMSI instructors and National Park Service rangers as your guides, you’ll explore the paleontology collections at the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center and even meet a real paleontologist. Try your hand at fossil preparation and discover how this region was once a tropical landscape. In between digs and discoveries, cool off with river time, sing campfire songs, play games, and enjoy some of the best camp meals around. Whether you're a seasoned fossil hunter or brand new to paleontology, there’s always more to learn about really old things! With moderate physical activity, the camp takes place at Hancock Field Station in Fossil, Oregon, with transportation to and from OMSI. Check-in is at 7 a.m. on the first day, and pick-up is at 5 p.m. on the last day.
