Engineering For Kids of Portland Metro offers hands-on STEM programs for children aged 4 to 14, including classes, camps, and workshops in robotics, coding, and engineering. Their engaging activities foster critical thinking and creativity in a fun, supportive environment. With a focus on inspiring the next generation of innovators, they make STEM learning exciting and accessible.

About the activity:

In Environmental Engineering classes, students tackle alternative energy and environmental challenges using the Engineering Design Process. They’ll design wind-powered machines to reduce fossil fuel use and test materials to clean up oil spills. It’s hands-on learning with real-world impact! While in the afternoon, just 111 years ago, airplanes hadn’t even taken flight—now we can travel across the globe in 12 hours! In this class, students team up to see who can journey the farthest around the world. Along the way, they’ll design their own boat, plane, and rocket for an exciting engineering adventure!
