East Winds Band Camp 2025

Join the premier East Winds Band Camp at the David Douglas Performing Arts Center for an inspiring week of music-making! For over 10 years, this day camp has offered young musicians rewarding experiences under the guidance of top band directors from Northwest Oregon’s middle and high schools. Running from 9 AM to 4 PM, the camp features full-band rehearsals, focused sectional breakouts, and exciting opportunities in jazz, chamber ensembles, and World Music. Camp kicks off with an action-packed first day, including sight-reading, sectional practice with experienced performers from groups like the Oregon Symphony and Oregon Ballet Theatre, and placement into bands based on skill level. No prior jazz experience? No problem—our ensembles are open to all skill levels! Students entering grades 6-11 with at least one year of playing experience are welcome. Over the week, students will refine their musical talents, collaborate with peers, and prepare for a culminating Friday concert performance. Please note: Audition materials are due by July 10, 2025 at camps@vibepdx.org (details at ewbcpdx.org/audition). Campers must bring a nut-free lunch and snacks.
