The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland, Oregon, is a leading science center offering interactive exhibits, hands-on learning activities, and educational programs for all ages. Visitors can explore diverse exhibit halls, including the Turbine Hall, Life Sciences Hall, and Earth Science Hall, each featuring engaging displays and laboratories. Lights, camera, adventure! Back by popular demand, Desert Doc is an introduction to documentary filmmaking set in the stunning landscape of Camp Hancock. Work with a team to film, narrate, and edit your own mini-documentary using state-of-the-art equipment and software, guided by expert instructors from OMSI and NW Documentary. While bringing your creative vision to life, you’ll also enjoy classic Hancock traditions like Chuckwagon breakfast, river time, campfire songs, games, and sleeping under the stars. With moderate physical activity, the camp takes place at Hancock Field Station in Fossil, Oregon, with transportation to and from OMSI. Check-in is at 7 a.m. on the first day, and pick-up is at 5 p.m. on the last day.
